My reflections:✨
1) Moving to a new country meant letting go of my home, my safe places, and the comfort of the familiar. It was a powerful detachment from what shaped me and from the roles I held in others’ lives. Yet the space it created opened room for growth, learning, adventure, and new connections. I didn’t truly lose anything; but by opening my heart to a new world, I gained so much.❤️

2) Letting go of the life that shaped me meant meeting myself on a new level and without the familiar reflections of my friends and family. This inner inquiry has been challenging but deeply enriching, turning the move into both an outer adventure and a profound inward journey.

3) This year taught me the importance of surrender - letting myself feel the waves of emotion that come with building a new life while missing the old one. I’ve learned to trust that every heavy wave passes and a lighter one follows. Meeting each wave with grace and openness has helped me learn from it and grow in meaningful ways.🌱

4) In a world where everything is new, growth isn’t possible without stepping out of my comfort zone. It would be much more comfy to retreat into the familiar, but discipline is what helps me to widen my horizons and create new potential for myself.

5)When beginning my new life in Canada it’s been important to respect my needs and be honest with myself. For me this meant being patient through moments of struggle and meeting myself with kindness and honesty, even when I wasn’t at my best.❤️‍🩹

6) This year brought many emotions, much back-and-forth, and countless new experiences. These different waves reminded me that life isn’t about constant happiness, but about cultivating steady, sustainable contentment. While happiness comes and goes, contentment is an attitude - a choice - and a way of taking responsibility for my inner well-being.☀️

It’s been one year since I moved from Switzerland to Canada - one year of adventures, new friendships, a new home, and a lot of emotions.

As the seasons change and the temperature begins to drop, I feel a little melancholic saying goodbye to practicing yoga (asana) outdoors… 🥹🍁🍂

For me, there’s nothing quite like flowing through asanas beneath the open sky, practicing mindfulness by the water, or feeling the earth beneath me during my pranayama practice on the soft grass. ☀️🌻

But as change always brings new qualities and possibilities into our lives, I’m now looking forward to sitting in stillness, wrapped in a blanket by the fire - listening to the wind howling and the snowflakes falling outside. To moving gently in cozy sweatpants and an oversized pullover, and to sharing yoga during this upcoming season of cozy time spent with our loved ones . 🌟🍂❄️

During the last couple of days, I’ve been listening to a podcast on the topic of ambiguity. It really made me reflect on how we all carry ambiguity within us - we hold the yin and yang, the sun and shadow, and characteristics and interests that may seem contradictory. 🌗✨

Being able to tolerate this ambiguity is so important because it allows us to live our full potential without hiding or neglecting parts of ourselves. It gives us the freedom to show up more fully - with all that we are.🌞

This feels especially important in a world that constantly tempts us to define ourselves by certain traits, opinions, hobbies, or identities. But it’s okay to have different interests. It’s okay to feel torn between opposing ideas. And it’s more than okay to be ever-changing — just as the world around us is always changing, too.🌻

For me, this is such an important reminder — especially as someone who shares yoga. There are so many narratives out there about what “the perfect yoga teacher” should be like.

But is there even such a thing as the perfect yoga teacher? Aren’t we drawn to the path of yoga precisely because of our imperfections? Because of our deep desire to keep growing, and our longing to make peace with ourselves and the world around us?

The world is full of people who share yoga, and not two of them are the same. These differences aren’t flaws - they’re our strengths. Just as every individual is different, they’ll resonate with different yoga teachers. Our uniqueness and our deviations from the norm are what make us who we are - and they’re what bind us together as a community.💫

So let’s celebrate our differences and start to see them for what they truly are: our superpower, a gift we each carry.❤️

For me, softness is the key to growth. Just as a seed cannot sprout in rock-hard soil, our own hearts must first become soft before we can plant new ideas and qualities within ourselves. Receptive. Open. Tender.

Hard soil allows nothing to grow. A hard heart clings to everything. But in softness – in letting go, in trusting – freedom and space arise. And when we learn to become soft, we create a space in which transformation can happen. A space for change, a space for reflection, and a space for growth.

There are seeds within us too. Seeds of healing, of joy, of courage, of new paths.  But they do not sprout in hard earth. Not when we meet ourselves with harshness. Not when we only strive, perform, and function.

It takes softness of heart to create fertile ground for growth. A place where we are allowed to be just as we are – imperfect and whole – without needing to achieve anything.🤍 Because it is softness that makes us receptive – to ourselves, to others, to life.🫧

After weeks of being sick and unable to fully enjoy movement, it felt like such a relief to finally step onto my yoga mat again, flowing through movements in harmony with my breath.💫

For days, I had been longing to feel reconnected with myself - eager to challenge my body, to rediscover my strength and fluidity, and to explore demanding asanas.

But as much as the physically challenging aspects of my asana practice brought me joy, the truly profound and reconnecting moments were found in stillness and introspection - in the moments where I genuinely listened to my body’s needs during this phase of recovery.🤍

Yoga in Switzerland - back to my roots🇨🇭

After two soul-nourishing weeks in my homeland Switzerland, my heart is overflowing with love, gratitude, and joy.☀️

Returning to teach at my beloved Nijana Studio always feels like coming home - not just to a physical space, but to a community that holds and uplifts me in the most magical way.

But it’s not just about the place or the space - it’s about the incredible practitioners who make sharing yoga in Switzerland feel so deeply fulfilling and truly magical. I’m profoundly grateful for each and every one of you who honors me by showing up to practice. Words fall short in expressing how much love and appreciation I feel for you all.

I’m deeply thankful to everyone who has given me the joy of practicing together.

I don’t need to step onto my yoga mat to practice yoga everyday.🧘‍♀️

Yoga is not confined to the physical flow of poses known as āsana.
In truth, āsana is only a small fragment of the vast, ancient path of yoga.

Yoga is not a hobby. Not a workout.
It is a way of being — a path toward union, a return to presence, a journey into the depths of pure, embodied awareness.

There are many paths within yoga, each with the potential to lead us toward wisdom lived, not just learned.

The path that includes physical practice is only one among many.

Some days, I practice yoga by simply listening to the sounds around me—
the rustle of leaves, a passing breeze, the rhythm of breath.

Some days, I practice by quieting my mind through mindfulness,
training it gently, like a wild horse learning to trust.

Some days, yoga is simply being here, fully,
with the person in front of me — with the heart open, and the attention undivided.

Sometimes, it’s tending to myself with care,
honoring my needs without guilt or delay.

Sometimes, it’s speaking with honesty,
and living in integrity, even when it’s hard.

Sometimes, it’s knowing when to pause, to rest, to just be.

From the outside, my yoga might look like action.
But that’s just the surface.
Beneath it lies something deeper.

The real practice unfolds within -
in the landscapes of thought, in the stillness between impulses.

I practice by cultivating positive thoughts,
by softening the whirlwind in my head,
by choosing love over self-violence,
by being honest with myself.

Some days, yoga is simply tending to what makes my heart swell - so that its fullness can spill over into the world around me. ☀️

Some days, it is as quiet and simple as holding hope and taking one more step forward.👣

… And somedays it’s forgiving myself to not being able to do any of it.❤️

Sound. What does it mean to you?
What does it invoke in you?

I’ve been deeply fascinated by sound for a long time.

It has held me in my darkest hours — being a source of hope and light.
A mirror to my inner world.
A torch guiding me when the path was unclear.
A faithful companion on my inward journey.

Over the last two years my relationship with sound and my understanding of its power has deepened, as I immersed myself in its world - becoming a sound facilitator and guiding others through its world.
It has been an deeply touching and incredibly enriching path to walk.

In the dance of sound and silence, we are invited to surrender. To listen not just with our ears, but with our entire being.
Each vibration, a reminder to soften. Each pause, an invitation to listen more deeply.

Sound is not merely heard — it is felt.
It moves through us, dissolving resistance, anchoring us in the present. Through deep listening, we can find our way home to ourselves. No judgment, only awareness.
No effort, only being.

The space of sound is a space of calm and peace.
Where the sounds perceived invite entrainment — where the body, mind, heart and spirit align.
Becoming one.

Coming home to myself.❤️‍🩹

Reconnecting with my own asana practice feels like coming home to myself - to a place where I feel safe, free, and whole.

It’s not just about moving through shapes I enjoy - it’s a joyful reunion with the parts of me that sometimes get lost in the noise of the daily life.

When I allow myself to just live the moment, let my body guide me through one movement after another and just going with the flow, my body begins to speak.
And I listen.

In those moments, I feel deeply in sync with my body, my breath, and my soul.

In those moments, I feel so much love and gratitude for this body that carries me, holds me, moves me... and ultimately, offers me a home.🤍✨

Since I read the „I Met My Younger Self for Coffee“ poem by Jennae Cecelia and then saw the beautiful individual interpretations of so many other beautiful souls sharing their moving thoughts on their relationship and conversation with their younger selves, I have felt deeply inspired to ask myself:

What would I talk about with my younger self? What would my younger self’s questions be, and what would I answer?

What developed from those questions moves me deeply and fills me with a profound sense of gratitude and pride, as well as great love for the younger version of me from a few years ago.

In sharing this now, I hope to give you some insight into my relationship with my younger self and her inner world.

And maybe, I’d also like to inspire you to ask yourself:

🌻What would I answer?

After months of putting my own practice on the back burner, caught in the excuses of „not enough time“ and „not enough money“ to attend other teachers‘ yoga classes, I found myself stuck in repetitive patterns…

My asana practice felt uninspired, and I was longing for a spark of creativity.

This shifted when I made the decision to show up for myself and regularly attend classes led by other yoga instructors.

In this unfamiliar new country, after moving to Canada, it became more than just a routine, offering comfort - it became a source of grounding and connection with myself.

These classes have not only reignited my creativity and deepened my connection to my body’s natural impulses but have also opened the door to a richer, freer expression of my emotions and energy through movement. 💫

I’m so thankful for the incredible gift these instructors have shared with me - their fire, passion, knowledge, and creativity.

Each class has been a reminder of the beauty and power of learning from one another and feeling inspired by each other.

Kurz vor dem Jahreswechsel durfte ich einen ganz besonderen Yogaevent in der Schweizer organisieren.🌟

Gemeinsam haben wir die Kraft des Momentes zelebriert, uns vom vergangenen Jahr verabschiedet und uns auf das Kommende eingestimmt.

Durch diesen Event hindurch hat uns das Thema „Loslassen und Vertrauen ins Kommende“ begleitet - ein Thema, welches unsere Yogapraxis sowohl mental wie auch physisch geprägt hat.

Nach einem bewegenden Soundbath während der Endentspannung in Savasana stellten wir uns in einer geführten Meditation die drei essenziellen Fragen: „Was möchte ich loslassen?“, „Wofür bin ich dankbar?“ und „Was wünsche ich mir?“. 🤍

Die Antworten auf diese Fragen schrieben wir anschliessend auf drei Zettel, von denen wir einen verbrannten, um symbolisch Abschied zu nehmen. 💥

Einen nahmen wir mit uns mit, um uns immer wieder an unseren inneren Reichtum zu erinnern, …❤️

… und für einen zündeten wir eine Kerze an - ein Licht, das unsere Wünsche mit Leben füllen soll.🕯️

Zum Schluss liessen wir den Abend bei Glühwein, Tee und Keksen ausklingen und genossen den Moment des Miteinanders.💫

Ich möchte mich von Herzen bei allen Teilnehmenden dieses Yogaevents bedanken, denn ihr habt diesen Abend zu etwas ganz besonderem gemacht.🫶🏻

1 month since moving to Canada🌟

Vor einem Monat habe ich mein Zuhause in der Schweiz gegen ein neues Leben in Kanada getauscht.
Nach einer bewegenden Zeit des Abschieds – voller Schönheit, Wehmut und tiefer Emotionen – begann ein aufregendes neues Kapitel.👣

So viele Eindrücke, so viel Neues, eine riesige Stadt… und so wenig Vertrautes.
Meine ersten Wochen waren ein Wirbelwind aus Veränderungen und Neugier…

Nijana Yoga Transition Event

With so much gratitude, deep emotion, and a touch of wistfulness, I reflect on our last yoga classes together before my move to Canada this past week. The „Nijana Yoga Transition Event“ on Saturday was such a special way to close one chapter and open another: a beautiful afternoon filled with yoga, meditation, a soothing sound bath, and a cozy apéro, all marked by the unique and vibrant sense of community that defines Nijana Yoga. The theme of the event was „Together“ – and I will forever carry this wonderful feeling of togetherness in my heart.🌟🥹

I am endlessly grateful for every single experience we’ve shared over the past months and the past year and a half – all the heartfelt moments, the laughter, and the ways we’ve grown together.🥰

It’s important for me to emphasize that this is not a farewell but simply a transformation – a new beginning. Our shared yoga journey doesn’t end here; it evolves into exciting, new opportunities. Starting in December, I look forward to connecting through online yoga classes, and when I visit Switzerland, there will be chances for in-person classes again. And, of course, I am especially excited about the upcoming yoga retreat I’m planning for next year.🤩

I am eager for everything that lies ahead and deeply grateful for everything that has been. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your trust, your warmth, and all the unforgettable moments on and off the yoga mat. I feel profoundly connected to each of you.❤️

Finding Calm in the Storm🤍

So much is happening around us in the world – constant changes, challenges, and uncertainties that push us to react. We often feel driven by obligations, needs, and goals, so much so that many of us rarely find rest. Even when we do stop, our minds are still filled with thoughts about what we need to do or what we could have done differently. Often, we resort to distractions like our phones, only to feel even more exhausted afterward.

In the midst of this „storm,“ we forget to give ourselves permission to rest. But true strength lies in knowing when to pause – especially when life feels turbulent. In these moments of self-care, it’s not about doing everything perfectly but about consciously letting go of the demands and pressures.🍃

Even in the greatest chaos, there is an inner place of calm. The art of letting go – of what we still want to achieve or what we cannot change – allows us to embrace the present moment as it is.🌻

Self-care means having the courage to pause, even when life is stormy. These breaks are not a sign of weakness, but a source of strength that helps us stay calm and resilient as we navigate through change. The storm will pass, but our inner peace remains.🕊️

Let’s carry this moment of calm into our everyday lives, where so many changes and challenges affect us. Keep reminding yourself that true strength lies in pausing and consciously allowing yourself breaks. Even in the midst of the greatest storm, there is a place of peace within us that we can visit at any time. The storm will pass, but your inner peace can always reside within you – as a source of strength and serenity.🤍

I often find myself comparing myself to others, also as a yoga teacher. This impulse is ingrained in our society, and it’s a challenge to consciously let it go.🍃

My comparisons with other yoga teachers arise from admiration for their talents. I marvel at their thoughtful words, creative sequencing, and impressive asana practices. I wish I had the experience of those who have been teaching for decades, the self-assurance of those comfortable sharing their knowledge with large groups, and the ability to hold a handstand for minutes or spontaneously create beautiful flows. In these moments of comparison, I often forget my own strengths, knowledge, and the sensitivity I bring to my interactions. 💚

That’s why I remind myself to rely on my abilities and trust that I will continue to grow in many ways.☺️

A story that is dear to me always supports this perspective, and I would love to share its short version with you…

Once upon a time, a kind king who loved plants returned from a journey to find his garden in disarray. He had left his gardeners detailed instructions, but most of the plants were dying. The oak was sad it couldn’t grow as tall as the pine. The pine wished it could produce grapes like the vine. The vine envied the rose’s blooms, while the rose lamented it wasn’t as strong as the oak.

Feeling hopeless, the king noticed a field of vibrant freesias. Curious how they thrived despite likely neglect, he asked them. The freesias replied, “When you planted us, we knew you wanted freesias. If you had wanted an oak or a rose, you would have planted one. From that moment on, we knew the best way to repay you for our existence was to become the most beautiful freesias we could be... And that’s what we did.”

I hope this story reminds you, as it does for me, of the beauty and potential in being yourself and believing in yourself.🫶🏻

Trust🌸

The trust that resides within us - both in ourselves and in the natural flow of life - is like an inexhaustible source of strength and confidence resting within us.
It is the certainty that, in every moment, we carry everything we need within ourselves to face the highs and lows of our lives.

This trust is our unshakable anchor, giving us the assurance, in an ever-changing world, that everything has a deeper meaning and that everything will turn out well.🌱

When we approach life with trust, it opens the possibility to meet life with openness and calmness - even when the path seems uncertain.
It is the quiet yet powerful conviction that we are carried by life and can surrender to it with curiosity, ready to accept whatever it may bring.🥰

When we meet ourselves with trust, we rely on the deep, intuitive wisdom within us that guides us, and the great strength that resides in us.

Trust is a valuable gift we can give ourselves to invite more peace and serenity into our lives. It opens the door to an inner calm that exists independently of external circumstances.

Striving for healing is perhaps the core of the spiritual path and one of the greatest challenges life presents us with. Healing is something incredibly beautiful because it signifies growth and peace. Personally, it is one of the strongest driving forces on my journey.🌼

However, in our Western society, „healing“ has increasingly become a product - a commodity often promised in courses, books, and coaching as something simple and quickly attainable.

This overuse of the word makes me uncomfortable because I deeply believe that healing is an inner, individual process that can be influenced by external factors but cannot simply be „produced.“ The path to healing is incredibly complex, profound, and time-intensive, and no two healing journeys are identical. 👣

How can I be sure the path that helped me will also help others? By promising healing, am I taking on a responsibility I can’t fulfill? Is it fair to offer something I can’t guarantee or control?

Furthermore, I believe that outside the state of enlightenment, there is no state of absolute healing, which is why healing can only be pursued but never fully achieved.

I deeply admire those who have made it their mission to guide and support others on their personal path of healing and growth, and I sincerely hope to have the privilege of doing so myself.☀️

However, it‘s very important for me to always remind myself that it is not I who can bring healing to others:
- I can strive to create a space where people feel invited to encounter themselves on a deeper level.
- I can share my healing journey with others, hoping some elements may resonate with them.
- I can keep educating myself to better support people in dealing with life’s challenges and accompany them on their path of personal growth.
... But I cannot „heal“ people - only they can heal themselves.❤️

There may be individuals with special abilities who can indeed heal others, but in my opinion, these promises are often made too carelessly.

Letting Go🍂

By now, we have all certainly arrived more or less in autumn and feel the changes that come with this transitional period. This autumn—or particularly this month—means not only a seasonal change for our shared yoga practice but also a comprehensive transformation at Nijana Yoga. For me, this is a very emotional and intense process that requires letting go of the past and simultaneously having the courage to embark on the new. Do you perhaps experience something similar?
In any case, I am very much looking forward to enjoying this last month before the big change at Nijana Yoga with you and am so grateful to go through this transitional process mindfully with you.❤️

“When the wind of change blows, some build walls and others build windmills.” – Chinese proverb

This Chinese proverb is meant to accompany us through our yoga class this week and remind us that we can harness the energy of change to shape something new that helps us move forward in our lives. Instead of getting upset that the little motor of our boat can no longer fight against the waves of change, we set our sails and allow ourselves to be carried boldly and curiously by the wind to new shores.⛵️

In yoga, we refer to this letting go as “Aparigraha,” the non-attachment. Perhaps you notice that there is something you are holding onto, something you are grasping for. Maybe there is something you would like to let go of so that you can devote yourself more easily to the new that is currently unfolding.🌼

The theme guiding us through this week’s yoga class is “Trust in the Here and Now,” which I believe is the key to a fulfilling life.

Trust is one of the most fundamental and powerful qualities that carries us through life, filling it with happiness, gratitude, and hope.

It is the trust in the flow of life, in our own strength, and in the belief that our experiences will eventually reveal a deeper meaning that grants us strength and peace, even in times of crisis and change.

After a setback, when we are down, and everything seems broken, it is trust that gives us the courage and energy to rise again. Even from the deepest mud, the most beautiful flowers can grow if we have the trust in the light in our lives, the willpower to fight through the mud, and the belief in a change for the better.

Trust in the flow of life means surrendering to the fact that everything has its own meaning and purpose, even if we can’t always see it right away.

Marilyn Monroe once beautifully expressed this:
“Everything happens for a reason. People change so you can learn to let go. Things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they’re right. You believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself. And sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.”
With our trust in the flow of life, we bridge the gap between what seems to be and what could be.

The Dalai Lama once said:
“There are only two days in the year when nothing can be done. One is called ‘yesterday,’ and the other is called ‘tomorrow.’”

Life unfolds in the here and now. It is the only moment we can truly live, and trusting in the present means recognizing that this moment is perfect as it is.

Only when we live in the moment can we experience its full depth. Only when we live in the moment can we seize the opportunities life presents to us. Only when we live in the moment do we have the freedom to take control of our own lives and steer them in a self-determined direction.
Only when we live in the moment can we find peace and fulfillment.

Trusting yourself means maintaining balance even when the ground beneath your feet seems to disappear.❤️

It is often in moments of change and uncertainty that growth truly happens, and it’s challenging asanas like arm balances that remind us we have far more potential than we think – if only we trust ourselves.

Usually, it’s not a lack of strength that holds us back from attempting such poses, but rather a lack of trust in our ability to find balance, even in an unfamiliar and unsettling asana.

My life is currently marked by significant changes, which constantly push me to step out of my comfort zone. But it’s precisely here that I find the opportunity to strengthen my self-trust – by overcoming fears and uncertainties, and facing life’s challenges.🍂

The practice of yoga – whether through meditation, pranayama, philosophy, or the asanas themselves – supports me in this process of developing trust in myself and in the grounding of my feet... or rather, my hands, hihi.🤪💓

Where can you step out of your comfort zone and discover new trust in yourself?✨

Growing Together❤️

Vor Kurzem ging eine wundervolle Reise zu Ende, an der ich teilhaben durfte.👣
In den vergangenen sechs Monaten begleitete ich an der Seite von @yoga_nora ihr 200h Vinyasa YTT – eine unglaublich berührende und lehrreiche Zeit.

Es war mir eine große Freude und Ehre, gemeinsam mit so vielen wundervollen Menschen und angehenden – und nun zertifizierten – Yogalehrerinnen den Weg des Yoga zu beschreiten und in vielen inspirierenden Austauschen zusammenzukommen.☀️

So sehr ich es genossen habe, meine Erfahrungen im Bereich des Yogas mit anderen zu teilen, so viel durfte auch ich selbst von den Teilnehmenden lernen. Jede einzelne brachte ihre eigene Geschichte, ihre eigenen Erfahrungen und Gaben mit, von denen wir uns alle inspirieren lassen und von denen wir lernen durften.🌻

Es war so schön, daran erinnert zu werden, wie wertvoll es ist, offen dafür zu sein, von anderen zu lernen. Dies ermöglicht es uns, weiter zu wachsen und inspiriert zu sein, anstatt uns zu vergleichen.

Der Weg des Yogas ist kein Weg des Vergleichens, sondern ein Weg des Miteinander-Wachsens. Wir alle haben unsere ganz eigenen Stärken und Potenziale, die es zu entdecken und zu entfalten gilt, und wir alle können voneinander lernen.🌼

Jede Teilnehmerin dieses 200h YTTs hat diese Reise bereichert, mich inspiriert und mich dazu angeregt, weiter zu wachsen.

Ich bin von Herzen dankbar für diese unglaubliche Reise voller Wachstum, Gefühle und Loslassen – und für all die wundervollen Menschen, die diese Reise zu dem gemacht haben, was sie war.🌟

Centering⚖️💫

Balance and centering are important life themes in general, as they protect us from illness, define our well-being, and, in their absence, manifest themselves in unpleasant ways.🪽

However, our society and daily lives are not geared towards living in balance and centering, even though we are familiar with the concept of work-life balance. But it is so difficult to achieve this balance and find centering within ourselves because the external world makes it quite challenging.

It is not my intention this week for us to stress about how we can bring more balance into our lives. Instead, I would much rather focus on the inner attitude of centering with you this week. I have found that with an inner attitude of balance and centering, one can more easily find balance even in a very busy and intense daily life.🤍

In this week’s Asana practice, with a focus on twists, we aim to find a bit more centering in our minds, psyche, and entire bodies, so that we can rest in a state of balance within ourselves. ⚖️

Yoga asana has been my path to rediscovering my body - not as a cage, but as a home where I can truly belong. It’s been a journey of healing, helping me reconnect with myself after years of dissociation and the lingering shadows of anorexia.💛

🌻It has helped me reconnect with my body, fostering a sense of belonging.

🌻It has brought me closer to embracing my body with love and acceptance.

🌻 It has taught me that my body doesn’t look or feel the same every day - and that’s totally okay.

🌻It has shown me how to embrace and accept the imperfections of my being.

🌻It has encouraged me to be more mindful of my physical sensations, needs, and limits - without judgment, but with respect and empathy.

🌻It has empowered me to appreciate my body for its health and strength, rather than for how it looks.

🌻It has guided me toward greater self-compassion, allowing me to treat myself with kindness and patience.

🌻It has helped me let go of the competitive mindset imposed by society and culture, allowing me to focus on my personal progress - step by step.

Letting go🦋🫧

Yoga promotes the development of the most important kind of strength: the ability to let go.

This ability helps us find more freedom and ease in every area of our lives. It involves recognizing both physical and mental attachments and consciously letting them go to create space for new experiences and opportunities for growth.

Mental attachments are often thoughts, beliefs, or emotions that we hold on to—sometimes consciously, sometimes unconsciously—that limit us. Most of the time, these attachments stem from past experiences, fears, or expectations. Yet, change is a natural part of our lives and its only constant. Everything is in flux, and holding on to these attachments prevents us from moving forward on our path.

If, over time, you become aware that you are holding on to something that you were not yet ready to release, acknowledge this: Awareness is the first step toward change.

Then, remember that attachments are part of the human experience. Instead of condemning yourself for this, you can accept it and meet yourself with compassion. When you stop resisting your attachment and give up the struggle, you grant your attachment the freedom to exist and dissolve. Instead of focusing on what you believe is missing in your life or what you fear losing, remind yourself of what you have. Try to feel gratitude—for the abundance in your life and your being.🩵

The practice of twists, on which we will focus during this week’s Asana practice, supports this process of letting go and helps us release our attachments on both a physical and mental level.

Being able to provide the space, atmosphere, and soundscape of a sound bath means incredibly much to me. ❤️ The trust that I receive and the love that I am able to give bring me so much joy and fulfillment.
The most beautiful aspect of it is that I am able to do this with the awareness that all I am doing is providing a person with the space, safety, and trust so that they can experience themselves. It is not that I impart feelings or insights to them; rather, they create these themselves. Everything they experience, feel, and what surfaces in their consciousness, they already carry within them. I can offer them suggestions to allow these to rise, to be recognized, and to be experienced, but my role is limited to throwing a pebble into the lake of their consciousness: the circles it creates are decided by the person’s own being.🫶🏻

Den Raum, die Atmosphäre und die Klangkulisse eines Soundbaths geben zu dürfen bedeutet mir unglaublich viel. ❤️ Das Vertrauen, welches ich hierbei empfangen, und die Liebe, die ich geben darf, schenken mir so viel Freude und Erfüllung.

My safe place today: My yoga mat🌻

It may sound strange, but my yoga mat often becomes my safe place. Even though on tougher, darker days it often takes a lot of effort for me to get on my mat to practice yoga or, more specifically, asanas, it is one of the most important places where I can draw new strength and confidence. It’s where I can feel my strength and my gentleness at the same time, and where I can connect body, mind, and soul.
There are also days when even the yoga mat can’t offer these feelings of refuge and peace, but even then my practice teaches me resilience, strength, and the knowledge that even these difficult moments will pass.🍃🌼

Gestern feierten wir das einjährige Jubiläum von Nijana Yoga mit einem besonderen Event, das mein Herz mit Freude und Dankbarkeit erfüllte. 🥳✨

Gemeinsam begaben wir uns auf eine Reise durch alle Facetten des Yogas: Von der körperlichen Asana-Praxis, über die Atemübungen des Pranayama und die Philosophie, zur Praxis der Achtsamkeit und schließlich zu einer längeren Endentspannung in Savasana mit einem Soundbath.🌸
Im Anschluss stießen wir bei einem gemütlichen Apéro auf den ersten Geburtstag von Nijana Yoga an und ließen die vielen schönen Erlebnisse des letzten Jahres von Nijana Yoga Revue passieren.🥂
Im Rahmen dieses Events sammelten wir Spenden für die Hilfsorganisation „Ärzte ohne Grenzen“ und brachten dabei einen Betrag von 440.- Franken zusammen! Ich bin so überglücklich darüber!😍☺️

Es war ein Nachmittag voller magischer Momente, bei dem wir die Freude am Yoga und das Miteinander feierten, und der mich tief berührte.🙏✨

Ich möchte mich von ganzem Herzen bei allen bedanken, die gestern dabei waren und diesen Tag so besonders und unvergesslich gemacht haben. Es war eine Freude, diesen Moment mit euch zu teilen und zu feiern. Eure Anwesenheit bedeutete mir mehr, als Worte ausdrücken können. Ich habe jede Sekunde des gemeinsamen Feierns mit euch genossen und bin zutiefst dankbar für eure Teilnahme und euer Dasein.❤️🌟

We have been focusing on the themes of satisfaction, presence, and self-love over the past few weeks, which are fundamental to our joy of life.

When one has arrived in the present moment, lets the satisfaction of this presence affect them, and has let go of the desire for wanting more, then one is also ready to muster the courage to allow, accept, and perhaps even initiate changes.

We want to awaken and fuel this courage during our yoga practice this week.
This week, we want to strengthen our courage to accept changes in life and continue to develop. We want to face challenges and embrace them so that they make us stronger.

The present is a gift. It is the only thing that truly exists. Yet, it is often difficult for us to truly experience it consciously - while the presence in the present moment creates the foundation for contented, joy-filled moments.

Inner peace can only be found in the presence of the present moment. Living in the past creates fertile ground for depression. Living in the future brings many fears. Only in the present can we create new happy moments - regardless of our past. Only in the present can we create the ideal conditions for a luminous tomorrow. It is, as Buddha formulated it: „Do not run after the past and do not lose yourself in the future. The past is no more. The future has not yet come. Life is here and now.“

Living in the moment also means consciously experiencing beautiful moments and then being able to let them go and move on when they come to an end. Because if one concentrates too much on preserving something instead of enjoying it as long as it is granted, one misses it.

Therefore, during today’s practice, we want to work on sharpening our awareness of the present moment and recognizing and enjoying the beauty and abundance of the here and now.
