MY YOGA PATH

Hi, I’m Jillian - and I’m so happy you found your way here :)

Yoga and sound have been an essential part of my life for many years, guiding and supporting me on my personal path.

 

Like many others, my journey with yoga began during a very challenging chapter in my life. Hoping to develop a more loving and mindful relationship with my body through yoga, I soon discovered that its practices offer much more than that.

What continues to inspire me most is the deep impact these practices have on the psyche and nervous system. With a strong interest in psychology, I’m continually fascinated by how ancient yogic philosophy aligns with principles of modern psychology. This understanding continues to shape the way I teach, hold space, and guide others on their personal journey.

 

Today, yoga and sound are part of my daily life, and having experienced firsthand how transformative yoga and sound can be, it feels like a true privilege to share them with others. As a yoga teacher and sound facilitator, I aim to create safe, nourishing, and non-judgmental spaces where people can slow down, listen inward, and reconnect at their own pace.

 

Originally from Switzerland, I moved to Canada in November 2024 and am grateful to continue sharing this work here, walking alongside others on their own yoga path.

NIYANA - ON THE JOURNEY

Descending from the ancient yogic language of Sanskrit, Niyāna can be understood as “path,” “direction,” or “process.”

To me, this captures the essence of yoga - an inward journey and a path of life we choose for ourselves. It reminds us that yoga isn’t about reaching a destination or mastering something, but about embracing the journey and ongoing growth.

 

Niyana Yoga exists to create moving, powerful experiences that support and honour each individual path.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Yoga is an ongoing path of growth and development that we choose to walk. Its practice is not about reaching a destination or becoming something else, but about journeying inward — meeting ourselves honestly in each moment and allowing space for growth to unfold naturally.

 

Yoga invites us to connect with our body, breath, and inner world with love and care — to listen rather than push, and to move with curiosity instead of expectation. Yoga is not about how it looks from the outside, but about how it feels from the inside.

 

At the heart of Niyana Yoga is the understanding that each body and each yoga path is unique, and we honour and celebrate every individual pace and experience.

 

As you explore your own yoga path, it will be my pleasure to walk alongside you — offering guidance, support, and a safe space to learn and grow.

A home for mindful movement, introspection and community

Nestled in the heart of Riverdale, Niyana Studio Toronto is a calm and spacious home for yoga, sound, and community.

 

The light-filled yoga room offers a cozy, grounded atmosphere where you’re invited to move, rest, and reconnect with yourself.

 

Fully equipped with mats and props, the studio holds space for small group classes, private one-on-one sessions and events.

Studio Details:

The Niyana Studio is a private, home-based space. To honor its privacy, the exact address will be shared with you once your booking is confirmed :)
