About the event
Join Jillian (from Niyana Yoga) and Tanya (The Rooted Yogi) for a beautiful morning yoga session in High Park.
Together, we'll begin with a gentle qigong practice to awaken the body and settle the mind, flow through an accessible yoga sequence, and close with calming pranayama.
This beginner-friendly class is open to all bodies, ages, and experience levels. Whether you're brand new to yoga or have been practicing for years, you're warmly welcome to join us.
Come as you are and enjoy a grounding morning of movement, mindfulness, and community, amidst the calm and beauty of nature.
Participation is free, with optional donations supporting Natural Curiosity, a Canadian non-profit dedicated to environmental education through Indigenous perspectives.
Frequently asked Questions:
What should I bring?
A yoga mat or large towel
Water to stay hydrated
Comfortable clothing and a few layers (it can feel cooler during stillness and warmer during movement)
An open mind and heart:)
Where in High Park will we meet?
We'll be gathering in High Park near the main entrance from Bloor Street.
Once you've registered, you'll receive an email with the exact meeting location and any additional event details a few days before the event.
Is the class beginner-friendly?
Absolutely! This practice is designed to be accessible and welcoming for all experience levels.
Whether you're completely new to yoga and qigong or have an established practice, you'll be invited to move at your own pace and honour your body's needs.
How does the optional donation work?
This is a free community event. For those who wish to contribute, we'll be collecting optional donations in support of Second Harvest, a Canadian non-profit working to reduce food waste and hunger by rescuing surplus food and redistributing it to communities across the country. https://www.secondharvest.ca/donate
You can donate directly through a link provided by the organization or contribute any amount to a donation box available at the event.
What happens if it rains?
In the event of severe weather, we'll notify all registered participants by email as soon as possible with any updates or changes to the event.
We're looking forward to practicing with you:)
